Energy Conservation
You conserve energy and impact energy costs by maintaining the efficiency of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system.
Steps a business can take to Conserve Energy
1. Perform preventive maintenance
Simple tasks such as replacing filters, cleaning condensers for the rooftop systems, and cleaning tubes for chilled water systems can have a significant impact on energy usage and charges.
2. Review building control systems
Check to see if the system uses outside air for cooling, night setbacks, and start/stop settings. It can be more efficient to bring in outside air than to spend energy and money making your own.
3. Conduct an overall building tune-up
This is especially important in buildings over ten years old.
4. Think about system upgrading Consider investing in solutions that can provide quick paybacks; adding free cooling, heat recovery, using variable frequency drives (similar to a dimmer switch used with lighting), and storing energy for later use.
5. Upgrade to more efficient equipment
An efficient HVAC system will save you money every month in energy costs. Utility Rebates may apply.
